TV wall mount screws ?

I'm putting in a TV in the bedroom on an outside wall. That's were the sticker is. We bought a wall mount that is detachable. The screws that came with the mount are about 3 inches long. What size screws do I need so they don't poke out the outside of the camper.
New trailer is a Reflection 293RES 5th wheel.

Thanks
  • Thanks, I might just take it back in and see if they will mount it at the dealer. Our CW is a little slow.

Here is the info you need from the engineering team that designed your model. Read the last couple of posts.
  • I would suspect that the mount the OP bought is for residential use, thus the 3" screws included. That makes sense.

I have never seen a three inch wall in a RV, but I haven't seen every wall in every RV.
  • Those screws might be three inches long for a reason- shelf/TV combos can be heavy! But they sound awfully long for something that's designed to go on the wall of an RV- who has walls that thick??? In an RV, I mean.

If the hardware was in fact designed for RV use, is it possible that there's some sort of intervening support that the screws also go through?
  • Using 1.5" screws are probably safe. Why not measure? You should be able to determine the thickness of the wall at a window, door, or baggage door.
