Used Hensley Arrow?

I found a used Hensley arrow that lokma to be in great shape, just a little surface rust on the bottom and top of the jacks.

Question, are even the older ones all rated to 14,000 lbs and 1,400 tongue weight?

What should I look out for when purchasing it?

Its installed on his trailer and I will be helping him to remove it.

Thanks
  • Get the serial number off the unit and call Hensley , they will tell u year built and weight class. Not all of the older ones were rated 14000 / 1400#.
  • Thanks! really excited and about getting this hitch. Have been looking at 3/4 ton trucks, but hoping this will do the trick to give me a more comfortable feeling while towing my trailer.
  • As far as I know the hitch heads are all rated for 1400/14000 but check the bars, they may not be. Some owners change them out for lighter ones. My friend picked a used one up which came with 1k bars.

As for the hitch itself, not much can go wrong with them other than regular wear and tear. The sleeves and bearings can get worn out but they are all replaceable. You can pull the caps off to check if the grease is clean etc but it's not easy to do. Hensley sells a refurb kit if you need. They will also send all new stickers if you want to repaint it.
