Using Maps to show your travels - Whats your preference?

I've always wanted to get a map like many of you have in your sigs that show where you've been with your RV. I almost got one with my old TT that we went a ton of places in, but never followed through. I now have a new TT and have been considering getting the map to fill in, but I'm curious.....

Since this particular trailer is new, do I start fresh on the map or do all the states with the previous trailer count since we traveled there at some point? What is your preference? Tally all states that you've driven through or spent time in with one particular RV or all states no matter what RV you were in?

Thoughts?
  • Jw,

You got a double slap with that post.

    1. People with visited state maps are vain and need to impress others.

    2. People with visited state maps are all old and senile.

    Good job!!
  • I guess I am not as old as I thought because I can remember all the places I have been and don't need a map to try and impress others who can't remember where they have been.:)
  • Where do you get the one that people attach to their signature or footer and how do you update it.
  • The map in signature shows all states in US that we have actually camped in during our FT travels.........coincided with map we have on our 5vr.

If we didn't camp in that state we didn't claim it......our rule 'traveling thru doesn't count'

    Your Map.....your Rules.
  • It says right here in The Rules™ that this one is a freebie. Do whatever you want. You want to do only the places you've been in this new rig, it's up to you. You want to do everyplace you've been since you were born, including all those family vacations they dragged you on, fill 'er in. Anything in the middle, whatever, your choice.
  • It's up to the individual. You can start new with your new unit or, you can count the places you have visited/camped in the past.

Personally, I will use the places I have visited/camped when we get a new RV.

Just because you did not visit in your new unit does not mean you have not been there or camped it that particular state.

There is no right or wrong way.

Enjoy your travels. That's what it's all about. :)
