- Happy_ProspectoExplorerYea, caulk in a tube is so convenient to use, I have seen others use the Eterna-rope brand in either the 3/8" or the 1/2" sizes.
- CA_TravelerExplorer IIIHard to beat Dicor in a tube.
- donkeydewExplorerself leveling dicor
- bob213Explorerside note....I've always called this rope caulk also.(buetyl putty tape) Looking for it at Lowes, I was led to at least 4 depts. and finally sent to the paint dept. The guy helping me asked the women mixing paint if they had rope caulk in her dept. She said "what would you want to caulk a rope for?" Another customer sent me down the street to an Ace store and they knew what I wanted.:)

Yea! When shopping Lowes, I always look for the oldest most crippled up employee they have. The know what your talking about.
The thing that makes ACE such a good place is because, I've noticed, most of their employees ARE older guys who have been in the building / construction / electrical / heating air conditioning business and mostly retired now, just wanting a secondary job to occupy retirement time. They are GREAT to work with! Wonderful guys.... unlike the young whipper-snaps at Lowes and Home Depot .... oh ... don't get me going on Home Depot! Those guys are REALLY clueless! (Ok, you got me stared!....) - dbatesExplorerI bought some a couple years ago and the only place I could find it was at our Ace Hardware. It plugs hole real well, stays flexible and never dries out.
