- drsteveExplorerMY WD hitch lives in the front storage compartment when not in use.
- APTExplorerI keep my WDH parts in the TT. When the TT is my local storage, I just put on the floor inside the living space I can grab at the door. Most of the time, it's the first and last thing I need @ storage. When we get to a campsite, I put the WDH parts in an outside storage after other things come out.
I have other ball mounts for other trailers, so the parts for the WDH stay with that trailer. - Mine stays on the truck when I am traveling. At home is the only time I remove it.
- dodge_guyExplorer IILeft front (streetside) storage compartment is my dedicated “mudroom” I keep all my dirty stuff in there. Hoses, cables, and the hitch and bars.
- avoidcrowdsExplorerI had a 2" piece of square tube welded on under my tongue. I slide the hitch into it, and put my hitch lock through the hole. Keeps it secure. I just put my sway bars on top of where they normally are while hitched. I don't lock them, and still have them after 4 years.
I do use a coupler lock on the coupler, to add more resistance to theft. - hornet28ExplorerAnother way is to weld a 6" receiver to the trailer tongue for the hitch with a lock and a piece of square tubing big enough for the bars insert them from opposite ends and padlock the chains together. Problem solved
- MitchF150Explorer IIII put the hitch head in the trailer coupler and lock it down. Have a locking hitch pin and put that in too. I just slide the bars under the trailer and lock the chains to the safety chains.
Been doing it this way forever and learned it from when I was a kid as that's what Dad did..
Mitch - philhExplorer IIPretty pine box, but where's the hitch?
I'd be afraid of leaving the heavy hitch hanging from the coupler... besides, it would be too easy to just slide it into a receiver and drive away.
Small pass through in the front of the trailer is getting quite crowded, and we're just getting started. Does give me an idea to maybe build a rack for the bars tho. - LynnmorExplorerI have a locking truck side tool box across the trailer tongue. It contains blocks and chocks while under way and it contains hitch parts while camped. The hitch head ball is inserted in the trailer coupler and locked while camped.
- rwynkoopExplorerI keep Equalizer(brand) head and bars in the front compartment of my camper. I keep boards and foot here also when not in use.
I did not want it moving around in the bed of the pickup. When it is in the camper, the camper is never moving, so I do not have to worry about it moving.
