Who all carries a DRONE while RVing?

If you belong to a club that has specific designated areas for flying, like radio controlled airplanes and such, then yes, I would think they could be a lot of fun. But if you're wanting to fly one (especially with a camera) over a campground, I don't think the drone will survive.

Personally, unless you are in a secluded location, non populated, you're only asking for trouble.

I have a small RC helicopter I picked up from my local pharmacy, paid $20 for it. It flies just fine inside my house living room with cathedral ceilings. I think that's where they should stay. (keep yours in your living room, I'll keep mine in mine.)

Also remember that most states are enacting laws that prohibit using a drone to pursue, disturb, harass, or locate wildlife.

I have witnessed a drone scare a herd of elk so that they ran across a highway endangering the elk and motorists. I won't put up with it anymore. If I see anyone flying a drone anywhere near wildlife, even if accidental, I will notify the authorities.

I do think they are interesting. I'm just not sure flying them over a campground with people, and expensive rigs is a good idea. Five or more pounds falling from the sky could easily cause injury / damage.

Having said that " shooting at them" at, or near a campground, is not a safe or educated response.

A gentleman was flying / recording with a drone last year year at Jeep beach in Daytona. Actually his YouTube video looks good. However, when he launched it at the Jeep event within the speedway, security quickly shut him down due to the safety of those within the infield.

I don't want them flying over my property, however you can not expect privacy on public property.

Rocks may be fun though...lol.

the price of some of the drones are way over my head and allowage. I have a quad copter and it is fun to fly and that is the key word here. some of the drones have gps in them and to me that is not flying. I like the control of the copter. plus if I go over 600 ft, which I'm afraid to, I would lose sight of it and poof it would be gone.

I love all this anti drone tough talk. I bet you tough dudes would run like a little girl if a pissed off drone owner came and paid you a visit IF you were able to hurt the drone. The majority of drone operators just like to document some very beautiful places. I see nothing wrong with that. They can fly over my camp site or home. I have nothing to hide.

Before we have to get out rulers here lol, opinions are just someone's and they have a right to it.

Like drones, do not own one, have seen some fantastic video of places I love from a truly unique point view that was very breath taking!

Do they belong in campgrounds, do not like the thought of one crashing into my site, if the owner is willing to take responsibility and reimburse me for damage AND lost time I have no issues. I will state paying me for my time is not going to be cheap and I have the ability to establish a rate per hour that could cause eyes to cross.

The only known case to date of a drone being purposely shot down was in Texas. The guy who shot it down was charged by Texas law and is being taken to court for reimbursement and will lose. You own as much of the airspace above your home as you do the natural resources under it! It is not your property regardless of your feeling it is.

The gentleman who did take exception to a drone, flying through his neighbourhood looking at woman sun bathing, (yes that is what the silly collage kids were doing with it), noticed it hovering over his 16 year old daughter and her friend, proceeded to shoot the drone down. He then proudly boosted what he had done to the faces of those collages kids, gun in hand while standing on his property. Here is what I find most funny, he is charged for shooting a drone down over his property, charges will most likely stick, if this human kids had of walked on his property he could have shot THEM and most likely not been charged LOL.

The kids were stupid doing what they were doing! Shooting it down for looking at my 16 year old daughter sun bathing I think is justified, I have a little girl myself which might make it more ok in my mind. Lesson if you do something like that, don't be overly proud of it, make sure it will be tough to prove it came from your land and claim you know nothing.

Some places are passing laws now where you have the right to shoot them down, mostly towns.

I think drones are going to go the way google glass went; it'll get you beat up. People do not like being recorded or viewed without their permission. Most will jealously protect their privacy.

Oh good!! Now we have something else to complain about other than dogs and loud music. :)
