window next to door

I would like to install a window to right side of the door. I think I should be able to install one between the frame. Also like to install smaller one above the stove/ counter. any ideas about this-- thanks Dave
  • If it's a sticks and tin trailer, it's typically pretty easy. I added a window to the back of my trailer. It was easy to build a frame with weight supporting header without damaging inside or outside walls.

I'm an IT guy by profession with no construction or carpentry experience at all. The window has held up solid and leak free for over 14 years.

I want to do something similar, but it’s for an outside TV. I will need to figure out where the studs are.
One of the first things I do with a new rig is on a cool morning take pictures of the outside condensation patterns - ie the studs.

    Smart man.

Yep, I was going to do that last year, but never got out there right away. I’m going to try that this year.

  • The first TT that we had was a Wolfpup BH. That thing had a total of 4 windows including the one in the door. I hated that TT because it was like being in a cave. 4 weeks after we bought it, we sold it and bought a Viking 17 FQ which is like living in a glass globe. My wife sewed some really nice curtains for privacy.

  • Might get a better answer if you stated what you want to install the window in. Travel trailer, fifth wheel, motorhome. Brand , floor plan.
  • Walls contain unknowns. If you are 100% sure it's OK then drill holes on the inside to be 200% sure. Easier to patch/cover the inside wall. :E
