Like I said, my OE wires are not that huge (still need to physically check them), and take it from there...
Personally, I would never run the operating current through the remote switch.......I would use a Bosch 30 or 50 amp relay and use the switch to control the relay........with a coil operating current of only 160 mA......the least expensive remote would work just fine......
BTW........just for reference, a Barker tongue jack requires a 30 amp slow blow fuse.....
From the Alta websites frequently asked questions.......Click here
7. What kind of electrical load will the system handle?
The remote system will handle 35 continuous amps and 45 intermittent amps. When the remote is not running it will draw 6.5-7.0 mille amps. This is sufficient for all 12volt dc motors and hydraulic pumps that we have tested.
With that info in mind.......the Alta resources remote control unit is anything but overkill! - westendExplorerThere should be a fuse on your tongue jack. Size the switch according to that fuse rating.

These guys have exactly what you are looking for...
Looks perfect, I did not see a link for where to purchase?
This one just looks like a wiring nightmare, and, I'm guessing, overkill? Since we can't seem to find a price, dunno.
I think I'll check my wires, and probably end up with the one from RFControls.
This one at 5A:

or their 30A unit:

This one looks promising too........and for only $22.99 might be worth a try.....
Logisys 12V Momentary Polarity Switchable Remote Control (RM03M)
No mention of max amps on that one.

:h !!!?!?!?
So I replyed to him asking why there were tiny little wires that come off of it and go to my battery? - FSADExplorerI emailed RFControls about whether the batteries were included in the remotes, they replied yes. the email was from carymart (previous post mentions them). Prolly one in the same.
I still need to look at my supply wires and also email BuyersProducts to see if they know the amp draw, but like I said, judging by the size of them, can't be too high.
I'll keep you posted. - RuralgasExplorerHi FSAD:
You may want to try this unit Heavy Duty 30A DC 12V 24V Motor Remote Controller Transmitter. I got this off eBay for around $67.00. The seller was carymart-usa01. Have a look if you want.
I wired it in my 5th wheel and it works great. One button for going up and one for going down. No more standing having to hold the manual button. Has very good range for my purpose. My wife loves it.
I wired it in so if I ever have a problem with the remote unit I can just switch a couple connections and go back to using my manual system.
Just my info and idea. Good luck.
