Wobbly Dinette Table

Wrap a piece of paper around the leg before pressing down.

I, too, used the "Whomp" method, but I used a rubber mallet with a big head. But I fear I'm going to have to find a different method. The space between the table edge and my belly is shrinking. I think its the same elves that are making the shower smaller. :)

Womp on it realy hard to seat the post.
Both fists hard on the table top directly over the post.
Good for a long while.

About once a season, I have to kneel on ours in the middle over the legs and bounce up and down a few times (trying not to hurt my knees as I do it).
That makes it good and tight for another year.

Once it is tight, make sure no one leans on one side or the other, or it will loosen up again

Set up the table and while pushing down, wiggle the table so the legs will seat properly in the cups.

Those cups are usually cast aluminum or cast zinc.

You may be able to have a welding shop install some sort of locking screw on the side of the bracket, so that it could be tightened.

Another probably a lot simpler idea would be to get some toothpicks or wooden shims, and try and wedge them between the table leg and the bracket.

But, you also need to check to see if the reason it's wobbly, is the bracket to table leg, or the bracket to floor connection?? It may just be that the screws holding the bracket to the floor have come loose!!
You may want to get some oversized screws and re-fasten it:)
