Exactly my thought. I recently bought a new truck that sits higher than my previous TV and needed to get a new shank with more drop. At first I tried a 2" shank with the adapter sleeve and there was massive slop. I could move the hitch head (at the bottom) almost 1-1/2". That was way too much for my comfort. I splurged and spent $150 to get a 2.5" shank and it was a much better fit.
So yes, if your truck has a 2.5" receiver and Blue Ox will UPGRADE you for free, jump on the chance!!!! :B You will not regret the choice.
