Finally made it out of the driveway. Driveway camping is OK, and been sleeping in the camper every night since April 1. But, nothing like getting "out" and on the road again.

As tradition for the last 20 years, our first "official" campout of the season is always celebrated by T-bone steak and Eggs the first morning after officially setting up camp. This year was no different, except we added Hash Browns. April 28, 2018, Mississinewa State Park, Indiana:

Our campsite:

Today, Saturday, May 5, 2018, Whitewater State Park, Indiana.

Our campsite today this week-end ... today:

Yea, Supper is just as inviting.

Nice thing is, the camp sites are mostly unoccupied right now. I'm amazed how many tent campers are at Whitewater State Park this week-end.

I am so GLAD Winter is finally over! We'll be back in the driveway Sunday night!

“run a separate extension cord from the campground electric post and just use it instead of plugging it into the camper.”

please tell me about the griddle you're using. brand, size?

It's a Presto. Cost about $29 at my local grocery store. WalMart has them. I've actually got 3 of them. 2 in the camper, one in the house.

I like the more square one better than the longer more narrower one, personally.

I run a separate extension cord from the campground electric post and just use it instead of plugging it into the camper. We also use the same extension cord to keep our laptop computers and cell phones powered when outside too.

I really like the flat electric "Presto" griddles, because I can control the temperature so much better than over a fire or over a BBQ grill or even a gas stove.

I do take extra effort to ensure the griddle is flat. I put blocks under the picnic table to level it as much as possible, and then I have a bunch of 1/4 inch 2x4 inch boards (painted to resist dirt and grease splatter) so I can put them under the feet of the griddle to fine tune the level. I also use my small carpenter's level on the top of the griddle to make sure it's as level as possible before turning on the heat. This way, eggs don't run to the edge, and grease, oil, or butter doesn't run off into the drip pan before things even get hot.

We really enjoy them.

I wish I were camping this weekend, but had to work late Friday, and have to work Early Monday, just too much hassle to leave on a Saturday and return Sunday. Working right now in fact, server is down trying to get it fixed

It's a spring day today, but winter weather all next week, waiting for July to get here for the nice weather... my summer is typically mid-July through October
