Labor Day Review

I should have found PawPawJohn.... I really would love that much seafood. I guess I will have to go visit relatives east of him in Plaquemine Parish and beg boat rides..

We spent the weekend at alum creek and they had a lot of activities for the kids. Overall very good trip. Where do you go fr Halloween weekend?

We normally leave Labor Day for a 4-6 week camping trip. This year we could not and forgot to make a Labor Day reservation until it was too late. As my husband spent the afternoon in the emergency room it was a good thing we had not made reservations.

Just another weekend

We left the camper home and took the boat out to my son n law's dads camp at the bay. We spent three days and two nights. Went fishing and sat under the boat dock cover. Enjoyed the weather and kids & grand kids. We eat Crawfish Eatofee Saturday night, BBQ Sunday for lunch & Shrimp and Crab Stew Sunday night. Crabs caught fresh Saturdat & Sunday, the Shrimp was caught Aug. 12th by myself trolling. I troll every year to keep my freezer full, I caught about 125 lbs. of Shrimp opening day of the second season. The second season is open from Aug. 12th to Dec. 31st. I plan to make a second tripas soon as it kolos off. Great fun!!!!!

(Lost Maples State Park with DW and our cur dog. First went there about 22 years ago. Hot but still enjoyable. Plans formulating to be at the closest state park later this Fall for the color change. Hoping we get the cold snaps in October to start the change.

We didn't go camping this past weekend due to it being the last long holiday for summer and our favorite spots were full up, besides we had some home work to do...good thing we stayed home....got news Sunday morning that our youngest daughter got engaged Saturday so we now have a wedding soon. :B

We don't like crowed camps on long weekends. We opted to go out on the lake. Up at 3am, on the lake by 5am, off the lake by 8am. It is time to get off the water when the wind comes out of nowhere and tosses waves over the bow. We did get a good rainbow trout but also lost $50 in lures. We did have a great time though, short but great!

Went to my son's for a cookout on Saturday - spent the day with the grandkids. Sunday 9 y/o's first football game, so we went to that. Monday we recuperated.
Nothing better than spending time with our kids and grandkids. Family time is the best!!!

Glad you had a great time. You're making memories that will linger long after you are gone, and will probably affect how the next generation interacts with their kids and gk's.
