Over the years we’ve come across several strays but our 3 (now 2) cats won’t tolerate another cat. We fostered a pregnant female last year and our boys (neutered) never saw her but they knew she was in the house. They fought each other - eventually we had to isolate them. They didn’t calm down for a month after she left.
