We have 2 cats....been hauling them around for 9 yrs. I've asked friends if they can smell their litter box in our rig......they say no. First, we use Arm and Hammer litter for multiple cats. AND we clean out the clumps every night. About once a month, we take all the litter out and I clean the plastic box with soap and then vinegar. :) We don't have room anywhere except at the end of the dresser (back wall) in our rig for the box. We found a litter box with 3 sides up --- not a dome.....most cats don't like the dome. Yes, litter gets on the floor.....but we love our cats and we're full-timers. :)
