Does anyone know why we have never had anyone infiltrate undercover a dog food manufacturing plant?I personally have been involved in getting into puppy mills under cover, I've been undercover outside of horse slaughter houses to expose and film their inhumane practices. etc. etc.Yet we never read or see any footage about in the inside of a dog food processing plant.I would be very interested in seeing 'how and in what form all the ingredients arrive' and just how they end up all going into one hopper raw and then processed. How do they maintain the percentages, food safety etc.Many claim they use fresh meats. I just can't visualize how they store it in their warehouse and how they dump raw chicken, grains and the like in one vat and bake it so it comes out in a small dried kibble.?Any one have any links with pictures of inside a dog food plant? When I was a Weights & Measures Quantity Control Specialist for California I was in quite a few pet food processing plants. No difference between the processing for people meat products and pet foods. They both are USDA inspected and have to meet the same "wholesome" standards. In the plants doing canning I have seen people eat the pet stuff.

Don't know about the plants but I've seen large hairs etc in dog dry food.Sometimes it makes the dog sick and throws it up. We have switched brands supposedly premium brands but seems to all be about the same except some sya they have lots of different vegetables.

My dog will gobble elk, deer and bison turds like they were M&Ms. She treats a hunter's gut pile like an all you can eat buffet. Doubt anything in a pet food plant would hurt her.

My dog catches moles and mice, kills them, then eats them. He eats birds my cat catches and drops behind. He eats cat poo from the litter box. He eats scraps from the ground, he eats sticks and grass and bones. I'm not concerned about how dog food is processed. I am concerned about that mole that might have gotten into some poison though. We have to watch him ALL the time!

My dogs lick their butts and drink out of mud puddles so I'm not too concerned about what's in their food. I do try to buy what they like the most and enjoy watching them pick out their favorite pieces of kibble.
