I currently have 3 dogs (2 Papillons and 1 Jack Russel). I love my dogs dearly and we take them with us (most of the time) when we travel with our travel trailer. There are a few places we like to go that only allow 2 dogs which is kind of a bummer. Usually, we have my niece stay at the house and dog sit 1 or more of the dogs when we run into this limitation.My wife went out shopping this week and stopped by a local Pet Smart. There was a small rescue Chihuahua that my wife fell in love with. As much as I love dogs, I was hoping we could eventually get back to having 2 dogs so we wouldn't run into the 2 dog limitations. The wife's argument is we already have 3 (which is a limitation) so having 4 isn't any worse. The little guy is really cute but I need another dog like I need a hole in the head! Decisions.....

Make the wife happy and get it. It will all work itself out.Just my opinion.Not sure if you want to be talked into or out of getting this dog.

It always starts with one more, If you have four what is wrong with five and then you stay at home because you can't get anyone to watch you house full of dogs. Good luch with what ever you decide.

I had 4 dogs until recently. We had to put down our 19 year old male Jack Russell. The wife has really been missing him lately and bonded with this little guy at Pet Smart. I will try and post a picture of him.

We have 7 and will be keep 2 or 3 pups from a litter we just bred (today). I am not one to "talk you out" of getting more dogs.Mark

Chihuahuas are wonderful dogs, we have two. But I'll warn you right now, they want, almost demand to be with you ALL the time. Sleep with you, travel with you, sit with you, follow you around, play with you, cuddle etc. Probably be a little jealous of attention given to the other dogs also. So you're prepared for that, fine. If not, help find another good home for it maybe? I don't think we would go over two dogs, but that's just us. Good luck.

Congats on new chi, a fantastic breed. Have 5 of my own and 1 foster rom 4 lbs to 16 lbs. When I wake up I am trapped under the cover when they decide to wedge up on each side of me, so funny.....always love them. Sooooo sweet and cuddly. Enjoy him...he will give you his heart.

I've head of lots of RV'ers traveling with four. As for those places that only allow 2 dogs, don't go there. We're in the same situation, or we ware until this last September when we lost our little Missy. We now have two dogs and will stick with that as long as I can hold out on not getting another. I know that it's nicer to have just two, but there's lots of room in your heart for more.

Congratulations on your new addition! He's a cutie, for sure ;) We full-time with 4...a Blue Heeler/Rott mix, a Jack Mix, and 2 long-haired Chihuahuas. Love all 4 of our girls!

I have only had this dog 2 nights and he is already stealing my heart. He is so tiny! If I get on the floor with him he gets in my lap and curls up. He is starting to get more adjusted to my wife and I and the new environment. He gets along with the other dogs like he has always known them. So glad we got the little fella. Once we get him potty trained, life will be good!
