150 PSI portable air compressors

I know this topic has been talked about in the past but I can't find anything in the "search".

I have a 2004 DSDP with 275/75/22.5 tires. I want to put in 115 lbs into these front tires. I have been looking at a Porter Cable 6 Gal
150 PSI pancake compressor. Has anyone used this compressor or can tell me if it would push 115 lbs +.

Can anyone help me or have any recommendations from what they have used and bought that would actually work? My MH compressor cuts out at
125 PSI and is a real struggle to get anything above 110 lbs.

Any suggestions what to buy keeping in mind a retailer where we could return it if there was a problem.

Thanks again.

I gave up on compressors and got one of these. I am very satisfied.

Doesn't CO2 diffuse too quickly through the rubber?
I've got a CO2 filler for my road bike tires. Works great but they're too low after just a few days. Always end up needing to air them up with 'ambient' mix air.

I have a masterflow tsunami 1050. It is a knock off of the Viair, as are the harbor freight versions.

It should be noted Viair now has their units made in Asia now, like everyone else, and their price and quality has dropped. The 10 year old Viair product is not the same quality as one will find today.

My masterflow has been modified to accept 1/4" npt fittings. I have added a 80mm computer fan to blow over the head. It blows up my ride rite airbags to 100 psi with little issue, never tried those pressures on a huge tire but with the fan I don't worry about the 30 minute max run time

I also have a 150 psi porter cable 3 gallon air compressor for my nail guns. It is a disappointment, with a poor regulator and overall build quality.

One cannot adjust the regulator with any pressure in the tank, and it tends to bleed pressure at times. Kind of noisy too, and the noise is not just an electric motor moving a piston smoothly, but one slapping the piston on each side of the cylinder each stroke, a disturbing metal on metal sound. I have not really given it much use either.

I hope that when it fails completely, it does not inconvenience me too much

I just got the craftsman 1.5 gallon,150 psi at sears. Its a nice size pretty light weight. Craftsman 1.5 Gallon Portable Air Compressor with Hose and 8PC Accessory Kit Sold by Sears Sears Item# 00915309000 | Model# 15309
$99.00. About 2 cfmbat 90 psi I think.

Viair. 12 volt. Do the research. Best buy for the buck. 8 years and still strong.

8 years old & still going strong. Sounds great but witch one do you have that is 8 years old & still going strong. Are you airing up your Bad Boy's passenger tires with a 90P Portable Compressor to 33 psi or using a 400P-RV Portable Compressor to air up to 110 PSI on a Motor Home or 5er. Inquiring minds would like to know witch Viair would be the best compressor for pressures from 80-110 PSI.

Thank you
Milo

And the answer is yes to both. I have a 5 gallon tank bolted up to the underside of my truck hooked up to my train horns. From the tank I have a hose that goes the back bumper to a female air fitting. And yes it will pump a tire up to 95 PSI in a quick manor.

Looks like a knock-off of the Viair compressor. Might work, don't know.

Might be worth a try as it's a fraction of the cost of a Viair.

Just a comment on some things at HF in general, I don't know anything specific about that particular air compressor. Just been my experience that one should pick and choose carefully at HF when it comes to components with moving parts.

Don't get me wrong, I have some HF stuff but I would only buy that compressor if I planned on replacing it every year of so. Sooner if I used it often. Sometimes you really do get what you pay for.

Is that a comment on that specific compressor or on HF stuff in general?

That Crafstman unit is a smaller version of what I use. I do not think they make the one I use any more though. Nice compressor.

This has always been a popular choice when this question comes up. I believe it would fit your needs. It frequently goes on sale for a better price, too.

Edit: link repaired (I hope).
