I have a 40’ 1997 Beaver motorhome. Overwintered last winter in mild winter climate. This next winter will be overwintering in below freezing most of the winter. Will it help to skirt my motorhome? I have heated storage underneath.

We could use more information. Are you camped on an electric site?

Do you have access to water? The pipes may be to be wrapped with heat tape. to keep thawed.

How cold can it get there?

Yes it will help, and insulating the skirting with styrofoam or straw bales will help even more. Not knowing anything about where you’re overwintering at it’s pretty hard to say just how far you should go with insulation.

I am a full-time resident in my Beaver motorhome. I am at about 4200 foot elevation In southern Oregon. The winters can be below freezing all winter long during the nights and days. I am in an RV resort with water, sewer, and electricity. Besides heated bays, my water line and sewer is also heated. I am less than a foot off the ground after the air is dumped. I have Aqua-Hot so my heating system is fueled with diesel
