AC fan reverb

Just set up camp with my Puma 30DBSS. Turned the AC on and all seemed good. Went into my bedroom in front and there is a vibration or loud reverb coming through trailer. Can't notice it in other area of trailer. With AC or just Dan on, it sounds the same. Any idea I can check while out this weekend? Otherwise I will make an appointment at the dealer since I have warranty.

Well, I took the cover off inside and the 4 bolts were pretty loose. I used. A hand driven nut driver and tightened them quite a bit. I did not over torque them i hope. I did nut turn them in as far as I could, but decently snug. This did not solve the problem completely. I'll check the topside tomorrow in the daylight. I think tightening it helped control the shaking, but it seems the fan is not valanced

A little Loctite® on the bolts will prevent them from loosening.

The fan may be just dirty and cleaning it will correct the imbalance.

  • Remove inside cover (4 screws) and try tightening the 4 lag bolts that secure the AC unit to the roof. Should not tighten more than 1 turn each or could over compress roof gasket. If that doesn't work, remove roof shroud and check fan blades for unbalanced condition (mud daubers or bees nest). Have your bee spray ready. Other than that, I don't know.
