Well, the past owner of Segway did die and in an unfortunate manner. His demise probably turned up in your search results.

Unless I am missing something, Mr Kamen may think that is greatly exaggerated.
Westend Dean Kamen is dead. - MrWizardModeratorinteresting... thanks
- Darryl_RitaExplorerWiz, look again. They don't do Geothermal. The company name is Genthermal, and this is what they do. It burns propane, heats a thermopile, and generates DC power. Units start @ 30 watt. Not huge output, but it's over 24 hours a day, so the whr do start to add up.
- MrWizardModeratorStirling engines are large for the amount of power produced
although they do lend themselves to all kinds of novel layout as regards to the construction and positioning of components - pianotunaNomad IIIHow nice a stirling engine would be. Too bad it is not readily available.
- MrWizardModeratorGeo thermal, is fixed location
Did not see anything mobile for small power needs, charging etc.. - Darryl_RitaExplorer

a tiny little LP flame produces about 400w of heat energy, used to power a fridge
what i would love to see, is an lp powered heat converter, that takes that little flame and produces electricity to charge batteries and/or power RV systems
the campfire thermo battery chargers for cell phones, only produce fractions of watts
Ask, and you shall receive. All over in the oilpatch. Thermo-electric generator - MrWizardModeratorI have seen Stirling powered fans, but NOT generators
And those fans produced less air flow, than a 100w electric motor
I do remember one reading about an idea for a Stirling style closed horizontal system to be powered by, the suns heat, to provided power for the space station, two wings, one in the shade one in the sun, the fluid movement to power pistons to pump heating and cooling thru put the station
AFAIK..it never bore fruit, just like the wave machine power generator ideas, but those of course have s sand built up as a hindrance, and storms etc..massive maintenance work to keep it going
