hello, well the story atsrts about a month ago i replaced the converter on my toy hauler with progressive dynamics converter. after some minor issues everything looked and tested good. and has been on shore power ever since. well i took it off shore and lights will not turn on, i check the monitor and battery level is red. i check batteries while unplugged reads 12.4 plugged in 12.4.check the converter plugged in its at 14.2 on both sides. check converter unplugged 5.9. what gives? is there a fuse somewhere and if so why would the converter be showing its getting juice back from the batteries??? please help leaving the 4th and will have no shore power just batteries and generator

sounds like the battery disconnect is not turned on...

14.2 on shore power no battery is too high, but 12.4 with shore power and converter is too low (13.6 expected)You need to be more precise in trouble shooting/isolating each side.First Step, take all the wires off the battery (not just the disconnect switch) and with shore power, see if you have "12v" (13.6)If yes/no report back for Step Two.

yes disconnect is what i was thinking but it is the same pushed in as it is out

Look carefully for the wire you removed and missed putting back on. At the battery and at the converter end.You have an open line between the battery and charger and often a wire is dropped in the shadows.

I read your original post again. Is this the first time you have really tried it out since installing the converter? Maybe you have it wired wrong.

i checked it again at there was no power.. stored power for that 1 second?

With the converter unplugged you should be getting battery voltage at the converter output. If all else fails, just connect the battery pos & neg directly to the converter, and at least the batteries will charge.

ok i hooked battery back up and i have power running into the disconnect switch but none coming out in either position. can i just bypass this switch and hook the wires to each other?
