Antenna/cable wiring question

I have a random though and I am not sure if my idea will work. Forgive me if this has been covered before

I have a 2000 Fleetwood Mallard and the antenna/cable switch is on the wall next to the entry door. I built a tv wall and now my tv is nowhere near this hookup. I can run a new cable to the cable inlet on the side of the trailer (which is the same side as the TV) for cable with no problem. My thought, to be able to use the amplifier/antenna, can I just put an A/B switch where it come into the trailer and switch before the amp and switch back and forth to use the amplified antenna? I was going to buy a new antenna for the mast but would still like to use the booster, unless the booster won't work with the new antenna.
  • Boon docking I run my indoor tv and I run an outdoor tv connected to the outside jack... With booster on I get tv at all locations...

    Dont know if that helps...

What new antenna are you getting? Whats wrong with the old one?
  • If you have the standard winegard antenna, the amplifier is in the antenna.

The plate with the switch, cable connection, and 12v connection only supplies power to the antenna and switches between cable and broadcast TV.

If you add a different antenna, you'll need to add a stand alone amplifier.
