- pianotunaNomad IIIno cog for anyone who boondocks will have more than 100 amp-hours. I'd suggest 400 amp-hours for serious boondocking which means a charge rate of 100 amps.
- bigfootfordNomad IIWell there is a cog in the wheel...
25 amp max charge rate!

SiliCON dioxide. World of difference. Only Taiwan can be trusted to offer honest data without absurd exaggerations. You may even find some brands of Chinese batteries that are "Thunder Proof" especially volatile is life cycle determination.
I admit they do seem to be "to good to be true". On the other hand Soniel has been around for quite some time. - MEXICOWANDERERExplorerFor preciseness

Here is some more information:
"Shari from Azimuth to answer your questions... The ones above are manufactured in China by a Canadian company, Soneil Electronics. Soneil has been around since 1994, but they made smaller size light traction SiO2 batteries for the healthcare and materials handling industries. It wasn't until a few years ago that they expanded into larger size deep cycle solar. RV, telecom and marine sizes. They haven't been that great at marketing so they are a best kept secret. Lead crystal / SiO2 batteries are currently being made by Betta Batteries(Australia), Green Rhino (Germany) and Soneil Electronics (Canada). I have attached some studies of lead crystal / SiO2 batteries for review. :) So far, all the ones in the field are exceeding our expectations."

discharge to one volt https://youtu.be/O45eLd5YotM - Captain_PicardExplorerThe SiO2 batteries must be very new. I can only find basic reviews going back to 2019. The website claims they are comparable to lithium in terms of depth of discharge and cycles. From what I can tell a 100AH battery weight is about 60lbs. Buying 3 of them from that website drops the price to $362 a piece. That seems like a really good value. Also I wouldn't have to get a special inverter/ charger. What to do, what to do?.?.?
- notevenExplorer IIII think the info in the site pianotuna linked suggests SiO2 batteries are commonly used by phone companies as back up power supplies.
- Captain_PicardExplorerLol I may have to be the sacrificial rat for these batteries.

This is the first I have heard of Silicone Dioxide. Have you ever used one?
They also contain lead crystals. Here's a link to one on Amazon:
