Awning

I have a problem, my awning just pop out about 3"in the middle of the aluminium C channel which is 17 ft long, it looks like a half loop best way I can describe it. The Fabric and vinyl rope are still attached together with no tears. How do I put it back in the C channel with tearing it. This awning was attached from the factory about 15 months ago no warranty. How about that they will not cover it.
  • Don't go bending things up. Use a good lube on the part that is out. Anything from silicone grease to chassis lube to cooking oil to shortening. Make it slick. Take that plastic putty knife and try it but don't be surprised if you have to use something stronger such as a good sized screw driver. Start at one end of the area that is out and start forcing the awning and bead rope in to the slot. This does not always go well and is hard to do. If all else fails drill a 5/16" hole in the bead rope track. Frequently this small area of relief will help start the bead rope back into place. If that works, do the same thing at the other end to hopefully assist in getting the bead rope in from one or both places.
  • You really only have two options. where the 3 inch piece is out you could try to bend the "C" channel open a little more then use a plastic putty knife and force the rope back into the channel. After the rope is back in the channel you then would bend the "C" channel closed again. The other option is to take the screws out of the end of the rope at each end of the channel then pull the awning out one end of the channel until you get past the part that is out then reinstall.
