Battery in TT not charging

I have a 2012 Eagle TT and the 12 volt battery will not stay charged. An sugestions on what might the problem be? I sell batteries so I have checked the battery and it is good and will take a charge with a battery charger. I appreciate any help I can get.

What do you mean "will not stay charged"?

Hopefully you realize that there is a constant parasitic load on the battery when connected? Either keep the RV plugged in or disconnect the battery in storage. It will run down in about a week's time if not disconnected.

Sometimes this happens when you accidentally hook up your battery in REVERSE POLARITY... While you are checking go find the word "NEG" of find the symbol "-" on the battery case and make sure this goes directly to FRAME GROUND on your 12VDC battery hookup.

If this is in REVERSE ORDER than two fuses in your Power Distribution Panel labeled REVERSE POLARITY will be blown as well as an IN-LINE FUSE that will be located very close to the POSITIVE battery terminal.

Be sure to correct any reverse polarity connections first before replacing any blown fuse as they will just blow again...

I always just check my battery terminals with a digital voltmeter and it should read around 12.6-7VDC if charged. Then I go plug in the trailer shore power cable and then measure the battery terminal again. It now should be reading 13.6VDC if the on-board converter/charger is working and all of the connections between the converter/charger and the battery terminals are in good order.

YOu can confirm that the converter/charger is working properly by doing the following:
First disconnect the negative lead of the battery or batteries
plug the RV into 120 volt AC power that is working properly
measure the voltage across the positive and negative leads AT the converter.
If there is no voltage it means the converter is not working
If there is reduced voltage (Less than around 13 volts or so)the converter is not working properly

If you don't disconnect the battery before running the test you will be reading the battery NOT the converter.

I assume you have also checked the in line fuse (in the positive lead near the battery). If that fuse is blown, no power to or from the battery

SOME converter/chargers are fused in the electrical panel so check that all 12 volt fuses are good in that panel.
