Battery Switch

I only have two batteries currently and they are of different sizes. I use an old battery switch that allows me to choose "off", "battery 1", "battery 2", or "both". I suppose that you could hook up a switch like that and isolate your similar batteries to "battery 1" in parallel, and the Die Hard as "battery 2". I charge mine together, but have it set up that if I'm concerned about it I can isolate them for charging.

Yes. Run the batteries in "parallel" keeps them balanced as well. Especially if both 12V batteries are same make/model. And, one only needs 1 x manual switch as well.

Talk about manual switch for battery/batteries, remember to install the manual switch that only cuts Chassis 12V power. re: Still allowing emergency brake away brakes - regardless if manual switch is ON or Off.

Every trailer I have had the break away was wired directly to batt so the cutoff did not effect it. As is the landing gear. As shown in above diagram.

The switch just gives you a convenient option of charging and running which battery that you choose. I think that it is important since I am running different size batteries.

You are correct, the brake switch comes right of the battery that it on the tongue of the trailer, before the switch.

I'd run them together and charge them separately.
