BOLIY Pro 3600 SI/E maintenance

I bought one of these 4-5 years ago and other than batteries going dead for the electric starter, it has performed very well. The owner's manual has a periodic maintenance chart and under Engine Oil, it just says to check it daily, no mention of drain and change interval. There's also a place that tells you how to change the oil but not how often. This generator has only been run maybe 12-15 hours, the oil appears clean but I don't want to neglect any maintenance that should be done.
Any recommendations?
  • Yes, the owners manual does leave a lot to be desired when it comes to scheduled maintenance.
  • Boon Docker - thanks for the link. My owners manual is not anything like what you sent. I'll print it up and keep it with my other paperwork.
  • Thanks. I figured once a year would be recommended and I've gone way past that.
It won't be used much since we prefer full hook up these days, but since I have all the covers off, I'll do it now while I'm replacing the battery.
    Appreciate the response.
  • Other small generators suggest first oil change after 20 hours. I would change it at least once per year.

The Boliy uses a Yamaha engine if I remember correctly.

Oil change every 50 hours (10 to 20 hours first time), or once per year.
