Broken Cable - 12-volt accessories

I've seen pusher MH where such a wire is used for an LHA or Leece Neville alternator mounted voltage regulator. Battery voltage sensing lead. No inverter. So there are multiple uses for such a wire,
go figure :)

I suppose a RV could have more than one solar controller and sensor as well as more than one charger and sensor.

I've considered a second charger for gen operation as my AGMs could take another 100A. But for our current solar and travel style it's not "necessary" ???

You've confirmed what I suspected - mfg solar is mostly for the salesman - Oh and you have a great solar system!

If you worked on my MH you would see 2 sensors but the second is of course DIY.

No need too. You take the info you have-----2006 Fleetwood Diesel. What the OP states. The Inverter/Chargers have such a wire/sensor. ONLY 1 from what the OP seems to say. That means Inverter/Charger temp sensor. Very rare for a Motorhome to have a Solar Charging system that would also involve a Temp sensor. I have worked on and still work on Motorhomes for 40 years and as I stated, never saw such a Solar temp sensor. Hence that is why I asked for more info. IF I ever see such a sensor I will know what it is for. I have never seen 2 such sensors on 1 battery bank. Doug

Inverter charger?
Solar panel controller?

Would it help if the OP posted an image of the cable hookup at the battery posts or are they all the same?

Also some of the EPSolar controllers like my Tracer.

Some controllers have temp comp mounted with the controller, which might be inside where it is warm while the battery is outside in the cold.

I forget why to put it on the neg battery post. Was explained a while back, maybe by PT. Of course it helps when the battery has a post of the type you can put it on!

The TempAssure for the newer Parallax converters also has such a wire to the battery. Has the temp sensor just at the ring lug on the wire

ALL the good controllers have these sensors.
OEM may not be installing this equipment.

My midnight solar charge controller also has battery temp sensor.

dougrainer where I live it gets to -40. Temperature compensated charging may be a good idea at such extremes. Many solar controllers do have temperature sensors for the battery bank.

That is a thermistor housing IT does not electrically connect to those six wires but rather to a component inside the housing (2 or 4 of them) and measures how hot the batteries are.. It can be attached to teh side of a battery or usualy to the negative terminal (Terminmal is better) IT runs to your charger be it a converter or inverter.
