Cleaning AC ducts?

One of my off-season chores is to clean our trailers AC ducts.
They have an endless source of styrofoam bits that shower the living room every time the AC is turned on after the TT has been moved.
Anyone have a clever idea of what to use or how to do it?

All I can think of is a shop-vac and a brush on a stick..

The styrofoam bits are a sign that mice have chewed the styrofoam intake/exhaust divider in the AC unit. Pull the ceiling grill and see how much damage has been done. You may need to replace some of it.

His trailer is a 2018, so most likely it is construction debris he has blowing out the vents.
  • We have a new lithium rechargeable blower that is really strong and compact enough to manuver around the inside of the mh but doesn't have a flexible tip of any sort,Our shop vac would blow the ducting apart if topped up it is that strong but it rather large to transport and get into the MH.
  • Having our house furnace ducts cleaned a few times and watched, what I’ve seen is the openings get blocked off (with cardboard laying on the floor so in the ceiling might need to be taped up), then attaching a large vac to suck stuff through, opening each one to clear it. On solid metal ducts, I’ve seen a brush ran through.
  • I used a leaf blower in the furnace ducting in the floor. It worked awesome! I blew from the center ducts and blew it to the ends and used a vacuum to finish.:C

  • Have you looked at them by pulling vent cover? Here is a mod that I have done to improve airflow, and could be the cause of your foam. I removed the vent collar and used vent tape between ceiling and duct. this improves airflow and stops debris from inside the roof.

  • I had to clean out a dryer vent years ago and found a large bottle brush (4") that worked, an Amazon search found this

    Have fun
  • Yeah, a shop vac as the bits shower down will do the trick, and you can try to suck as many bits out of the duct work as you can which will help.
I found that it took a good year of traveling with our new MH to finally get all the loose bits out.
