Concorde Batteries

What is the difference between the Lifeline and the Sun Xtenders? I can read the measurements, etc
  • I just replaced my Lifeline group 26 and the darn thing lasted for 7 years and more times than I can count I let it discharge way too far. There was no question about getting another Lifeline.
  • Interesting

Concorde is labeling a 13" long battery as being a group 27 which is an inch too long - 13" is the dimensions for a group 29-30-31 battery, but this one has a handle and the Lifeline does not. Also interesting are the 18 and 24 hour amp hour ratings but nothing for 20 hours.

The PVX-1530T is a "tall" group 29-30-31 but it is 3/4" longer than standard.

Impressions: Concorde told me they had stuffed my 31 as tightly as possible with .115" positive plates. With the weight of the Sun Extender being close to that of my 31 and guessing at the 20-hour rating, it appears that the Sun Extenders are not some miracle breakthrough or heart pounding improvement.

The PVX-1530T on the other hand has the basic footprint of a 31 but is much taller, heavier (and probably has a price tag to match). The increase in performance no doubt is due to the increased height of the plates. Where footprint is an issue but height less so, this might be a good option.

But construction versus construction, the XT Concorde and Lifeline do not seem to be different at all. The amp hour, and weight similarities are more than suggestive that plates and separators, glass mats, and envelopes are the same.

One thing I did not read is any difference in product warranty.

But all of the above is based on reviewing and comparing product data sheets not hands-on experience.
