Darn Nesting Birds

About twice a year I get birds flying into the space between my slides and the bottom of the slide toppers... the slides are closed , but just enough room to make it comfortable for them. I have tried all types of things to deter them with no luck... Even swimming noodles shoved in, but they still get in and in some cases the remove the protection.. Any good or better ideas???

I think you need a potato gun that shoots around corners.. Basically here is the design

A "Tank" (This is a length of like 5 or 6 inch PVC pipe capped with a tire fitting and a pressure gauge so you do not blow it up in your face, coming out of that is a good size length of pipe with a quarter turn valve (Instant open valves are better but harder to make) and from there we continue up to an elbow and perhaps a bit of smaller pipe.

Aim it under the awning and FIRE. Blast them nests to finders.

Oh, you just fire Air, no potato needed.

Put up a bird house or nesting shelf for them.
Most birds are territorial, if a bird uses the house or shelf others will be kept away.

we had wrens nest in the 5th wheel had to take 5th wheel in to get new tires. Hooked up took babies for a short ride and back home. Momma was not happy with us. Once they had all flowen the coop we put some hardware cloth in there so didn't happen again. one year the darn wrens nested in spare tire cover. we carefully removed it with nest intact and attached to near by tree. We had our week end and they had their house.

YES ! That is exactly what it means... I don't leave till the 21st for my first week long trip... looks like I will have to relocate them B4

I noticed I have a birds nest in my rear tire mount on my OFF-ROAD POPUP. Think that is telling me I haven.t had it out on the road last year at all hehe...

Nor sure how you would secure them, but strips of black Mylar work wonders to keep the cliff swallows from building under the eaves at our mountain cabin. Something like that rattles and twitches in even the slightest breeze and is a great deterrent. We have even gone one step further and used shredded black garbage bags for larger areas. The cabin is referred to as "the house with eyelashes", bur we don't have a problem with guano down the front of the house and all over the windows any more.

Some posters have had good luck with plastic snakes from the toy section at Wal Mart and others have been using fake owls. I guess it depends on the species of birds that are trying to nest.
