DIMPLEX ELECTRIC FIREPLACE PROBLEMS
My BF8000ST dimplex heater shorted out. I smelled electric burning and the flame started flashing on and off and the smell got worse so i unplugged it....anyone had such problems? if so, let me know. ...

A little heads up on the results of our experience to this problem.

I just finished with dimplex tech help. The warranty is 2 years for the original element that came installed in your rv. After that 2 years, applies to me since we purchased a few months over the 2 year period, they will send you a new heating element assembly for $115 + $30 shipping. And for that $145 you get no warranty at all. This comes with a touch of caution since we were sitting around the fire the other night with people we have met over the years and several with that same unit have had this same issue, one of those is on the 3rd element and thought the warranty was for 3 years and advised me to call.
We were looking around for a new unit and noticed that dimplex is no longer installed in the Landmark models we looked at.
