Dometic RM1350 Fridge Problem with High Temp switch

Having a problem with the high temp switch on my Dometic RM1350 in my TT. The high temp switch trips every time I am on the move and running on propane. When Im stationary, running on electic, works fine for days. I ran it for 2+ hours on propane, no problem. But, when Im pulling, it trips and shuts down the whole fridge. I can reset it, and as long as Im not pulling, it will keep running. Next time I stop, it's tripped again.

The switch Im talking about is the one mounted on the chimney stack on the burner. Believe that is the high temp switch, at least according to what I've read.

Going to call Dometic tomorrow, but thought I'd check here and see if anyone else had a similar issue. Wondering if it's just a weak switch.

  • It is part of the Safety system. It senses the burner flue outer temp on the metal cover. Doug
  • Thanks Doug.. I was/am leaning that direction, but just wasn't sure. Didn't want something else to be an issue and create bigger problems. Knowing it ran fine all weekend in combination of electric and gas kinda makes that all the more likely.

What temp does this high temp switch actually react to? Temp of the outside cabinet? Temp of the fridge itself? Ambient temperature?

    Mike
