Explain the water line drain

2003 Gulf Stream AmeriLite 21 MB
Purchased last winter from an owner who had it winterized somewhere. Today getting it ready for a trip soon but noticed a red (hot)and a white (cold) water line that had nothing attached and water flowing out of the white line. Location near wheels. Looks as if for an outdoor shower, but think it is a low level drain cock(?). Unsure of size/type of fitting or what to ask for at a RV store. Any thoughts appreciated before I look like a fool asking a clerk for this.

This setup is different from my old 97 Jayco.
  • I am thinking that Gulf Stream likes to make things interesting myself. I also have a AmeriLite but mine is even crazier then yours. My GRAY water tank valve is marked Sewage and the other valve is marked Gray WATER. So my first camping trip 3 weeks ago I dumped the one marked SEWAGE first and only had a trickle and I didn't see any thing go past the clear 45 hose window and then I hooked it to the other guess what ... yep sewage came pouring out good think they had some fresh water to wash out the hose .. lesson learned. ... now that I'm off topic ... my point is that Gulf Stream could mark things better wouldn't you think ???

  • This not the fresh water tank drain.
Each line has a 3/4 inch plastic female nut that resembles the type they use on the water heater.
    Thanks for your prompt replies.

EDIT: Had a 1/2 inch pipe nipple that would thread up in there, so guess I need to run to the hardware store for a 1/2 in pipe plug.
    Thanks for the help.
  • Look in coach for a drain valve.
Don't just cap it off until you know.
  • Sounds like low point drains...they should have either a pet-cock or a threaded plug.
