Exterior sealant for vertical surfaces?
Will be replacing a small piece of aluminum siding, need to put something under vertical sides - they overlap by 2", but it's better to seal, just in case. Also, might need to touch-up some on windows...

I've been using Lexel Sealant for the last year or so and really like it. Comes in clear and other colors. Paintable, too. When you apply it, you can use a soapy wet finger to smooth it but be careful because if you smear it on where it's not wanted, it's not so easy to get off. Takes a couple of days to really cure but does the job for me. And I like the flexible smaller tube rather than the large tube used with a caulking gun.
