Fan-Tastic Fan with a MaxxAir cover

The new Maxx Air Fan Mate 955 like this is taller and I have no problem with my Fantastic Fan,which BTW the cover is designed to stop when it hits anything. I like the clips,they make it easy to open and clean the vent cover.

Not wanting to tear into the roof like I did with the Fantastic Fan I chose to put a VORTEX fan in the bathroom,It is a snap to do with very detailed instructions and it is multi speed and reversible.

In my experience, less noise. I have two Fantasics for 22 feet. If you are longer you'll need at least three.

It depends on which exact model of fantastic fan you get, the better ones have multiple speeds, so how loud it is depends on what speed you select.

I would NOT put it in the bathroom. And I wouldn't use a fantastic fan anywhere. They are way to loud for me.

I put a maxxair Turbo fan in the 'front' of my coach. First of of all the whole fan is 'outside' the RV so you don't even hear it. And it comes complete as one unit with it's own one piece cover.

I have 3 roof vents with the middle one being the factory bath fan.
Turbo Fan in the front vent, factory fan in the middle and just plain vent with cover on the rear.

When I turn on that front maxxair turbo fan, keep middle vent closed and open the rear vent it's like a tornado inside! Sucking the air from the rear vent to the front. Rain or shine. Turbo fan has 3 speeds, reverse option and thermostat.

Which many of us would consider a negative as we much prefer a little bit of white noise provided by a fan. My own current coach doesn't have a vent over the main cabin so I instead hang a twin fan, triple speed, reversible fan over the street side window next to the bed and it runs 24/7 whenever we're camping, just as would a roof vent fan, to circulate the air inside the camper AND for a bit of white noise. :B

yep, this is the way to go. noise out and away from RV (unless you want a constant whirr and buzz in your ears), can operate in rain, etc. if I want "white noise" it will be with a bubler or whatever made for the purpose. not wearing out my good fan.

We had one of those turbo fans in our '03 mh. Traded it for a new mh in '15, and tried to buy a new MaxAir TurboFan 1200T, only to find that they are no longer available.

If anyone knows of where I can find one, even used, Please let me know.

We have two Fantastic Fans and a couple shops told me they install Maxxair II covers with good results. I liked the look, the price, and the quick opening latches like pictured above for Fanmate.

Disclaimer: We don't dry camp, meaning we're happy with any restriction the vent cover adds. If No Cover is 100-pct, the best cover is 95-pct and ours are 90-pct (air flow) I'm happy with that. They let the FF's cover open very nearly all the way, and there is plenty of vent louver area.
About the Bathroom Fan supplied by the OEM... I don't think anything but a leaf blower could be much louder.

For a bathroom, I'd consider this vent from Heng's


It's a no-fuss install from inside. Our A/C is not ducted. It does fine except for the bathroom when it's closed. With the Heng's unit, I could set up an air flow under the bath door and out that vent. We ventilate with one of our FF's on LOW anyway...

I've used the Fantastic Fan four years in my bedroom with a Maxx Air Cover. The model I use is controlled by a thermostat with moisture control. I have the fan speed controlled automatically and works well for me. Occasionally the cover being closed by moisture will disturb me and that is the only slight complaint.
