Frameless Windows; How do they compare?

I like the looks of them, but they seem to be a bit less functional than the slide-up windows. We have the louvered windows along with the slide-up and they act like the frameless windows in that they only open at an angle. We get much better ventilation with the slide-up windows open than with louvered windows open.

Just me, but I prefer function over form much of the time. They do look good though. :)

Our Greyhawk has frameless windows all around. Have had it one year this week and have had no problems with them. True they do not open widely, but the Fantastic Fan in the bedroom can pull a lot of air through the RV when necessary.

The picture I provided was of a frameless window. The outside glass is at most 1/4" above the slide wall. Much less than the 1/2" or so indentation of a regular window.

I don't have frameless windows but I read an article in a motorhome magazine that was not very positive about them citing small openings and possible leaks. One writer answered saying new Tiffen rigs have windows that look frameless but are standard . That sounds like the best of both.

We love our frameless windows. Since they crank out at the bottom it doesn't rain in when they're open.

I love ours too!! Very clean looking. We do have framed windows in the slide sides though

Love our frameless windows. Very sexy looking! Wouldn't do without them now. No issues with leaking or adequate ventilation.

The tinting on ours is a little on the dark side though and would prefer a little lighter. Another thing is that we can't fully open our windows that are next to the entry doors (we have two) as they stick out at the bottom and will touch the doors.

Best I can do now. If you look at the window on the side of the slide, perhaps you can see how the window works. I took pics but dont have a web page to post them where you can see them.

PS While they look to be frameless they are not. The frame is on the inside. The window is glued to the frame from the outside.

Okay, those just look like standard slide-up windows. I had read that they don't put the frameless windows in the slide-outs because they protrude and cause problems with the slide seals. That has been the only place I've seen the windows that slide up, in the slide-outs I mean. Thanks for explaining.

So there are no frameless windows that open other than popping open at the bottom?
