fridge will not come on

Hi, it is me again... We got the blower problem fixed and it was the circuit board. Cleaned it and it is fine... Now the fridge which is on the same 15 amp fuse will not work. Last night it was on for a while and when we went back just to double check it was off and will not come back on. We made sure all fuses were good. All the fuses on the backside of the fridge looks great... So what else could we look for? Help...You guys got it right last time. It is a Dometic fridge
  • My Dometic fridge is a RM 2652 model, Panel lites not working, will test - outlet, 12vfuse,

Panel lights not working.......then you do NOT have 12V DC to fridge

Either the 'feeder' DC fuse is blown (one in DC Dist Panel---15A)
OR the Fridge Stack High Temp sensor has tripped shutting down ALL DC to fridge (because cooling unit overheated----blockage)

    Service Manual

    Pg 6 - 8 .....DC Terminal Block

Pg 10 - 11 ...Lower circuit board (power module outside compartment)

Stack High Temp sensor is a 'Recall' safety device.
Trips all DC shutting down fridge
Located on burner stack .....manual reset

    Oops!
On reread of post see that you have a bad cooling unit.....crack/leaked.
So Stack High Temp Sensor tripped due to overheating from cracked cooling unit hence no DC to fridge.

    Yikes!-----new cooling unit or fridge????
  • Sounds like you need a new cooling unit.
They put one on mine a while back. Did not have to buy a new refer.
  • Well had someone look at it and then called a professional I think our fridge is done. We have green/yellow stuff on the outside but inside the fridge compartment. I was praying not to have to get a new one but may have too... so sad here... cannot really afford this right now....
  • Are you plugged in do you have 12volt power? The refrig. needs 12 volt to work.

One thing about Dometic Fridges that can fool ya.

There are TWO fuse boards in those puppies

one (on mind) is bottom dead center in the outdoor compartment

The other is a black box off to the left

May be in different places on your dometic.
  • Ok my friends...I love this group....toddupton - I will check fuses on the inside... Mandalay - will check GFI switch... pray it is that.. And Old Biscuit - you are a riot... My Dometic fridge is a RM 2652 model, Panel lites not working, will test - outlet, 12vfuse, 5A glass fuse, 3A auto fuse. will check all of the suggestions... Thank you again for your great help... I don't know what I would do without you... Janet
  • Well........

    You haven't given much info
Dometic fridge and it was but isn't working :H

    WHAT Model of Dometic?
    Are the Panel Lights working?
Was it working on AC and quit or was it on propane and quit?

Could be bad 120V outlet fridge is plugged into?
Could be bad 12V DC Fuse to fridge?
Could be bad AC Fuse on circuit board (5A glass)?
Could be bad DC Fuse on circuit board (3A Auto)?
    (Looking at them proves nothing)

    Could be bad electric element?
    Could be lack of propane?
    Could be turned OFF/

How long is a piece of rope?
  • You said they "look great" but are they any good on the inside? That's what matters.
