Generator clicks once instead of starting

That said, all the "338" ("0338') stuff was described as "Harness." Can you post a pic of the thing?

I just replaced the solenoid. Fuze is fine but whatever that fuse wire is running to is not. Solenoid is on one end and gets 12v.

I will check it out. But that fuse could be the control board fuse. Or it could be for propane operation. Some times units left the factory with items they didn't need. If the fuse is bad I would replace it.

If battery is known to be good then the most likely problem is the solenoid.

There is a black wire going from the fuse at the starter solenoid. It's getting 12 v but goes to a relay or smoothing. The wire going to the control board doesnt have 12v so I dont think its the board. Any idea what that part is? It is behind / underneath the air filter box.

Sorry. Control board on the genny. I will try disconnecting the panel in the cabin to see if that is interfering.

See Page B-8 of the linked manual, says beginning Spec N, pretty close to P. Might help you. As TEXAS mentioned, Flight Systems is good, and good on Voltage Regulators. Have you found and checked the Fuses?

Control Panel (inside remote) or Control Board (as TEXAS noted)? Our old BFA had a connector to the inside remote. Good troubleshooting to disconnect the Remote and try to run the genny from its onboard panel.

Amazon carries starters, fuel pumps, carburetors for ONAN. Offshore stuff for sure, but half the price. I wonder if "genuine" is any better. If it really IS, then worth the price. I just hate to think somebody's taking the part out of the white box and putting in the green box at double the white box price.

I'll try a look at the manual I linked for you. Our BFA looked about like a BGE but had no electronic Control Board. Its controls was a network of relays. It's very possible that the main differences between Spec Codes is how Control was accomplished. So, if your genny doesn't look like what's in the manual, better find another manual.

Took the starter out and tested it. It is bad. But that doesn't explain why no power is getting to solenoid when I push start. Must be control panel.

I'll check out that manual. I know the polarity isn't reversed because we have lights in cabin. I double checked too.
