Generator starts but then stops

Question

2014 Thor Freedom EliteWe've had this unit for about 18 months,  have not use generator, but it did run when we purchased the unit from camping world.Probably has been about a 8 months since we turned it on.It starts right up, runs about 20 seconds and cuts off.  Gas tank if full.   The power cord is plugged back into the unit.Any suggestions??Thanks !

Which generator/size?The first thing that comes to mind if fuel is ok, is the oil level.That said, I had a Onan 5500 demonstrate the same symptoms.  It required new brushes and they did something to the stator.  With bad brushes it couldn't find power output on startup and shut down after about 15-20 seconds.BUT - whatever it is should be trowing a code to point you to the problem.

Id bet its Crud in fuel bowl or fuel tank pick up, enough fuel to start it but not enough to run it...Did you stabilize the fuel before storing it?

Thanks for the replies, Figured out it is a code 36. Could be spark plug. Etc

Any way kind of an ingenious way to interpret the code. Took a while to figure that out!!!

Now we have a clue what might be wrong
