Generator Starts Up On It's Own

Just returned from an 800 mile round trip. On the way back home, the strangest thing began happening. When I would turn a sharp corner, the generator would start up on it's own accord. I would shut it off, and the next sharp corner it would come on again. In addition, if I hit a kind of hard bump in the road the radio would come on. Nothing like this has ever happened before. I am the original owner of the motorhome so I know this is a new issue.
Any suggestions on what could cause this odd behavior and how to fix?

It's a 2010 Newmar Canyon Star with the V-10. The generator is a 5500 KW Onan.
  • I've read this on the forums I visit a few times in the last year.
Seem to recall there was some type of circuit board that got wet and/or went bad.

Maybe you could find the other threads with a search.

Edit: google just brought up a bunch of posts about it.

You may be on to something. It's a real head scratcher for sure.
  • Its the time of year for Ghosts and Gremlins. Re-check next month.
  • I had the same thing happen on our 2014 Sunseeker with Onan 4000. The dealer said it was a bad switch for the genset. I have not driven it enough since the repair to say for sure that he got it right. It's hard to see how the radio problem ties in, though.
