- Bob_LandryExplorerI put a Fantastic Fan where the kitchen vent was. I pulled out the microwave and found 12V wiring that goes to the range hood then fished wire over to it for the fan. This lets me run the fan without having to turn on any lights.
- CentralCoastCamExplorerI fished some new wires from my tv cabinet, as the lights in the bedroom are on a switch, and I wanted to vent to run independent of the lights.
- HandbasketExplorerMost windshield wiper blades have ribs made of flat strips of stainless steel. A long one makes a passable 'snake' for fishing wires thru the ceiling for short runs. Bend the back inch over and clench it around the end of the wire with pliers.

- PauljdavExplorerIn the bedroom I have a light near the vent. I removed the frame of the vent and could see the wires so I put the powered van in and tapped into the light wire. Super easy.

Same here, I used a coat hanger to fish a wire through to a nearby ceiling light.
I installed a vent fan in our bathroom (there was no fan) and pulled the wire through the roof to a nearby light. Very simple to route the wire this way. - jfkmkExplorerI installed a vent fan in our bathroom (there was no fan) and pulled the wire through the roof to a nearby light. - skipncharExplorerHave you actually pulled the trim from around the vent to VERIFY that there is no 12 volt wire there? It would be kind of rare to not have one near by.
