2009 Itasca has a quest video select system. On the rear of the unit the coaxial connection from the satellite dish needs to be plugged in. the Direct TV box uses a HDMI connection. I presently have the DT box going to the TV with the HDMi cable. I would like the TV in the bedroom to work. How can I convert HDMI to Coax? Or how can I go from HDMI to two coax so the two tv's work. i don't need all the other switches nor care if the DVD works.Second issue. The surround sound is a DVD Home Theater System. Playing a DVD the surround sound is great. I would like the TV to play the surround sound insteadof using the cheesy speaker in the TV. I don't care to have the DVD player. I would like to toss it out and start over using the speakers already in the coach. The multi switch can go also. All I need is the DT box to run two TV's.

My experience is with Dish TV, not Direct TV. Doesn't the Direct receiver also have a Coax output in addition to the HDMI out?

klutchdust,I had a similar problem in that my BluRay player only had HDMI out and I wanted to be able to watch it in the bedroom. My solution was a 35 foot HDMI cable and a electronic splitter. IIRC, the two things were less than $25. I ran the cable myself and the splitter is the only item that uses 120vac so I do have to turn the inverter on. Works perfectly at much less than the quoted 2 to 3 hundred.Hope this helps, PM me if you want the dealers ID.

I bought the one they use in the stores that have multiple TV's running at the same time.One HDMi in 4 out.

Thanks, I'm interested in a HDMI splitter for home use with 720 and 1080 TV's. My understanding is that the 1080 will be reduced to 720 when both TVs are on.

I eliminated the quest video select system. I don't need or will use the features on that. I purchased a HDMI splitter that allows the Direct receiver to signal both TV's through a HDMI

cable. I connected the DT to the DVD player and now I have surround sound on regular channels. I plan on a 19" Samsung for the B room. TV resolution is fine.

Nice job. What equipment did you install? ie Brand and model. Did you experience the TV resolution dropping to the lowest TV or was that even a factor?

Well the HDMI cable is in, plan on using an inverter and getting a larger TV for the bedroom instead of the 12volt ones that are available. Turned the front TV on today and I have my

surround sound playing on all the Tv channels. Before it was only working if I used a DVD.

Go for it! Since you're going to be pulling HDMI cable, you might also think about pulling other wiring as well.

I did a complete AV system upgrade & re-wire in my Class A and installed a DISH Hopper.

You might want to take a look at a DirecTV Genie as both the Genie & Hopper can use existing coach coax to transmit HD programming.

BTW I've read that splitting HDMI isn't always successful and will cause the TV resolution of both TVs to default to the lower TV resolution.
