Yea, thanks for ending your thread... So many folks leave it hang makes the thread worthless most of the time..
Congrats...
Jim - H2oSprtExplorerI figured I'd come close this up for others in my situation. I ended up having to change my circuit board that controls the ignition. Easy 5 min fix, fires up and runs great.

So it's an Atwood heater model 1522. The heater will blow air, auto igniter will click, I can feel a burst of hot air and then it will go out. The code on the heater reads incomplete ignition. I took it apart today, it's not dirty everything looks fine. My buddy thinks it's a circuit board issue. Might try replacing that next.
You should hear the flame, it is quite noisy.
There is a delay that occurs from when the fan starts to blow and then ignition. Sounds like you got to that point....
Here is the sequence for your 1522:
3. As the valve opens, the board sends a high voltage
spark to the electrode at the burner. The board detects the presence of a flame. If the flame is not sensed after approximately six seconds, the board will lock out (three try for ignition, one hour lockout and then three retry), shutting off power to the valve.
4. If the system does not ignite and the thermostat remains closed, the blower will remain on until the thermostat is reset manually.
Here is a link to the PDF service document for the 1522, I do not know which options you have but the call for heat is the same..
A reminder to thank Bryant's RV for providing unselfishly the many helpful documents he provides...

- bigfootfordNomad IIHere are a couple of helpers to understand the lighting and staying lit sequence.

yes, the exact sequence of sounds and flames and airflow is needed for accurate remote diagnosis.
brand and model of the heater etc etc. Is it a water heater or furnace?
Does the click of the solenoid valve coincide with the flame going out, or does the flame go out and then the flame failure deenergises the valve - HMS_BeagleExplorerGas valve on the heater? Flow sensor on the fan? Need more info:
Does the fan kick on first, then the burner fire and then go out?
Or does the burner never fire?
