- TiziExplorerseafoam. I try to run mine every few months anyway.
- NinerBikesExplorerI've run my engine on some 50:1 outboard 2 stroke fuel before putting away in storage, then drained the fuel. Works just as well as fogging the motor.
- Boon_DockerExplorer IIIGet a Champion 2000, problem solved. :) Before storing I turn the gas off, let it run until it stops. When starting it later, turn the gas on, wait 3-4 mins, one pull and it starts.

Obviously the carb needs to be filled with gas before it can start. A local Honda dealer tells buyers to fill the tank, close the vent, then rock the generator side to side. This agitation will build a bit of pressure and push gas into the carb. To test this theory, just shake a closed gas can and then listen for pressure venting as it is opened. - wnjjExplorer II

I drain the gas out of the carbs after I fog them. Then I drain the gas tanks as well. I haven't started the Onan in a couple of years now but the Hondas started right up on 1st pulls after sitting from Oct. to May. I use Stabil in the gas all the time.
Ditto on 'fog'
Oil 'fog' into the intake to coat the insides of the engine.

Fill the tank,, I might consider adding SeaFoam,(NOT fill with "Winter" gas, not Summer) First of every month, or the 15th, take your pick, go out and plug in the heater and fire it up.
1,000 watt set heater to LOW.. Thermostat to max, +come back in 30 minutes or so shut down and unplug.
2,000 or 3,000 turn to HIGH, again come back in 30 minutes or so.
Top off tank as needed
Logic: routine monthly maintenance runs are the best storage
usually it is during those winter storage months that the line snaps in an ice storm or freezing rain and leaves you wishing the generator was gassed up and ready to keep food cold and house warm .. (NOTE a proper generator transfer panel on the house makes this all possible)
Worked for me. - jayw900ExplorerStabil, then run it for 5 or 10 minutes to make it gets to the carb. I do the same for the atv and motorcycle as well.
- PipemanExplorerI have 3 gennys. One is an Onan 4000w and the other two are Honda 2000s. I drain the gas out of the carbs after I fog them. Then I drain the gas tanks as well.
