Huge Thumbs-Up to Champion Generator Warranty Support!!

Discovered a broken bottom pan and stator blower cover on my less-than-one-month-old Champion 3100 generator last week. Was just about ready to depart on a week-long dry-camping trip and really needed this generator.

Although the damage was probably due to it being dropped hard during shipment, Champion still agreed to help me out under warranty. They *overnighted* the parts to me so I could repair the generator myself in the quickest possible time. The parts included a specialized puller to remove the stator in order to replace the blower cover.

Huge kudos to Fred in their support department. He took the time to help me out with the overnight shipment itself and patiently provided technical advice on replacing both parts in the most efficient manner possible.

What constitutes the best generator is certainly open for debate, but IMO there are very few companies that can match the customer service and warranty support I received from Champion!

I also have the 3100 inverter generator with the remote start. It started surging on econ mode and I contacted Fred at champion and he said they had some problems with the carb on some, and that he would send me one. I replaced the carb and no more problems. Excellent customer service

A great deal at Tractor Supply. I just purchased one last night. After the 15% discount (which expires tomorrow), I ended up getting it for $254 before taxes and 5 dollar shipping! I also bought the wheel kit.

I've had two of these, gave first away to get a nicer one with the remote. In the proper setting you really can't do better for less.(we are boondockers)

Yes! Someone had a 2000 watt inverter model at a CG we stayed at and it was every bit as quite as my Honda - at least at, or near idle.

Champion is a name brand
It's just not a Japanese brand name
And it's a much younger company than red or blue who have been around longer

The CPE inverter generators are very competitive with red and blue
The new 3000i remote start inverter is really nice
I really like mine
I can explain it to you.
But I Can Not understand it for you !

I had a part******out with around 100 hours on my 1200 watt CPE. My wife's last week of holidays was still a bit messed up by it, but the response was quick, and service was good.

IMO, Champion is competitive sound-wise with other make and model synchronous, "open-frame" generators.

As for their inverter generators, IMO the Champion 2000w inverter generator is competitive under low load, but becomes slightly louder than the Honda EU2000i under full load. The Champion 2000 also lacks the headroom of the EU2000i.

At 1/2 to 1/3 the price, IMO the Champion 3100 competes almost spec-for-spec (including sound level specs from 25% to full load) with the Honda EU3000iH "Handi" generator. As for headroom (inrush), the Champion 3100 has more headroom than a pair of EU2000i's and the EU3000iS.

Unfortunately, Champion does not currently manufacture an inverter generator that produces a sound level of 60db or less at full-load. I'd be surprised if Champion wasn't working on such a model. If Champion can produce a line of inverter generators with full-load sound-specs of 60db or less, IMO they will finally be competitive in a real way with blue and red's most popular models--especially if they're able to do so at 1/2 to 1/3 the price.

Champion is the only non brand name generator. I tell people to look at when buying one.

Thanks for the info.
Maybe Champion will give the Blue and Red some serious competition.
