I purchased a used 2017 Winnebago View with an HWH computerized hydraulic leveling system. I've only owned it for about 6 weeks and the system worked normally when I purchased it, but started an issue after a couple days and about 500 miles of driving. When I start the engine, everything is normal, green "travel mode" and various yellow lights for the low side. As soon as I set the parking brake, without doing anything else, the pump begins to run continuously. No individual jack down lights. If I push the auto-level or auto-store buttons, the blue lights flash a couple times, then the "excess slope" light comes on and the panel becomes completely unresponsive while the pump continues to run continuously. No jacks move.Frequently while driving, the "jacks down" light and buzzer come on. I stop to check the jacks and never has there actually been a jack down. When I pull over, same scenario, I pull the parking brake and the pump begins to run continuously. In these cases I have pull off the control panel to science the warnings.In the past couple of weeks, the problem was intermittent. After the coach sat overnight, the system would work normally the following morning. Now the problem is continuous and I haven't been able to get the system to work our last couple of overnights.Not much in the manual or on the website from what I can tell. HWH says they will call me back in 3 weeks. My local RV shop is booked for the next 8 weeks. Any thoughts? Any obvious things to check?

Is there sufficient hydraulic fluid in the central reservoir? I'm not familiar with the HWH systems for the View/Navion, but other class A models with LCI automatic jacks mention checking the fluid level in the reservoir at the main pump, wherever that is for the HWH systems?It might just be low fluid causing any number of false errors. Checked for leaks? Beyond that as a guess, I have no idea. Sounds electrical from the symptoms, but maybe it's a simple mechanical/hydraulic issue.If you do need to fill it up, make sure the jacks are all retracted. If you fill the reservoir with them extended, when they retract they'll probably cause the fluid in the reservoir to overflow. Messy.

The system relies on holding pressure on the retract side to keep the jack up. ANY system leak, internal or external, will cause the pressure to drop and the system should start the pump to reapply pressure to the retract side. Air in the oil can cause this. The oil gets frothy if the level in the tank falls too low. Any sign of leaks? There are no switches on the jacks, it just wants to see that pressure on the retract side. I had that problem once while driving but after about 20 or so restarts of the pump it quit. I, too had stopped and got out to look if the jacks were going down...not noticeably, anyway. I'm assuming some little piece of trash was stuck in a valve and eventually got dislodged. Any time my coach sets for a few weeks with the jacks up, the light will come on the moment I start up and the pump will come on to build pressure to be sure the jacks are up. Good luck!

download a 725 service manual from the hwh website. it has diagnostic procedures for the problem you describe. check the pump relay to see if its stuck closed.the operators manual doesnt have much in the way of doing repairs.

He stated the problem is intermittent, sounds more like aa control wire or the control module itself. Check manufacture warranty first, do you have an extended service plan, do a web search for Using model number and troubleshooting, problems. you will get better results.

Cheapest place is HWH. You will need the AP number on the back of the touch pad. As to returnable, Companies are NOT in business to sell and allow novices to buy electronic parts to plug in and then send back as a means of troubleshooting. Maybe HWH will allow you to do this. Doug

When it sticks, if you unplug the dash control panel and the pump stops, you have a bad touch panel. One thing you stated, it appears your system was NOT OEM. It was installed aftermarket. If so, then I would suspect the wiring harness from the touch pad to the Pump assbly has a short caused by being cut or melted. Doug

Yes, according to the HWH "owner card" that I have, it is a 725 system. Makes sense about the relay not being stuck. Today I went out and started the coach. I applied the emergency brake, and the pump did not run. I hit the auto-level and it started it's sequence, but then stopped when the front two jacks were about 2-inches extended. The pump continued to run without any jack movement. I turned off the coach and tested the resistance across the green and yellow wires, in accordance with the troubleshooting manual. Exactly what it should be, 59.9 ohms. I guess next I will unplug the touch panel & the I/O module and see if anything is shorted out between the two units. I suppose it could still be the touch panel or I/O board. I appreciate the suggestions, please keep them coming!

It is either the touch pad or the IO board. I state this because IF the pump relay was sticking, it would NOT shut off when you release the parking Brake. The fact that you engage the Parking Brake and the system immediately runs points to those 2 parts. DO NOT CALL HWH. If you E mail them you will get faster response. Are you positive it is the 725 system? There is nothing on an HWH system that ANYTHING with the fluid, would cause the pump to run out of sequence. Either empty, overfull or foaming. Doug

Thanks for all the info! The fluid is precisely to the full line on the translucent reservoir. I had wondered if it was a foaming issue as well, or the previous owner put an incorrect fluid in it. I've been up under it with a head lamp and see no obvious leaks. No fluid on the driveway. If there was a leak I'd expect low reservoir quantity as well, which it is completley full. No warranty apparently, the documentation I have shows it was installed almost 2 years ago right after purchase at the dealership (1 year warranty), and HWH doesn't transfer the warranty to a new owner regardless from what I can tell. No slide rooms @dougrainer. I'll grab that manual and take a look @azpete!
