Jensen Radio has dark screen

I have a Jensen JRV212T radio in a Class A. It was working fine until yesterday. I cranked the rig up, turned the radio on, used the camera to back up. I shut the unit off and cranked it about 30 minutes later. The radio is on, and sound is coming out. However, the screen is dark, and none of the buttons work. If a insert a cd it will play. The 15 amp fuse at the back of the radio is ok, and I tried the reset button to no avail.


Any suggestion is appreciated.

YES. I have had this happen a couple of times and this solution resolved.

It sounds like perhaps the connection to the front panel from the main board(s) of the radio has come loose or broken or something. If you're handy at that sort of thing, it might be a relatively straightforward and easy thing to fix. If you're not handy, unfortunately the best option is probably going to be replacing the radio (or getting it replaced).

That is, of course, assuming Mex's suggestion doesn't pan out.

Try disconnecting all power to the radio to reset. These devices have both ignition on, and battery power input. A better than nothing suggestion. Good luck.
