Here is a good thread on a 4024 in actual use.

Which brand has the highest percentage of satisfied customers?
I tortured my Trace 4024 and started a 7-1/2 horsepower compressor with it. The unit laughed it off.

Victron does. Note the Phoenix diagram shows a separate charger.

Can be paralleled to create about any size needed.

That would completely get rid of the need for an autoformer, and a low-voltage EMS. If I had the cash, that definitely would earn a place in my rig, even if it functioned as a quick and dirty UPS, or if I'm using a marginal generator like a 3000 watt generator, it would absorb the locked rotor amperage without overloading the generator.

Hi,
I wish Victron had a straight inverter rather than inverter chargers.

Samlex might work at 3k.

In an ideal world I'd go with 3600 watts (or 4000) but no one makes a 12 volt in that size (a reliable one, that is).

Hi Jeff,
That's an unfair comparison--but my ideal inverter would be PSW, stand alone, 12 volt and 3600 watts continuous.
I could start with one Victron and add a second one if need be. Magnum doesn't offer that feature. Don't get me wrong, I believe the Magnum is a great unit.
The Victron Quattro can be connected to dual 120 volt power sources. "More Power
Two AC inputs with integrated transfer switch. The Quattro can be connected to two independent AC sources, for example shore-side power and a generator, or two generators. The Quattro will automatically connect to the active source. "
