Get a good solar controller, not the one in a kit. Morning Star makes great controllers.
Never connect solar panels to batteries without a controller in the middle. You will over charge the batteries, and with cheap panels actually discharge the batteries at night.
As mentioned above, use decent gauge wire. 6ga or dual 8ga from panels to controller, and the same to the batteries is great. From batteries to an inverter (depending on size of inverter) you will need much thicker cables. I use dual 1/0 wire from my batteries to my 2k Pure Inverter.
Verify shading of the panels on your roof. ie make sure the AC or skylights are not close enough to any panels to cause shadows.
BTW Harbor freight panels are utter trash and should not be used.
