- brulazExplorerI used 3M 4200 adhesive sealant to help the screws a bit as they were only going into plywood, not the framing. But as it's glued to the rubber roof, whether that helped or not depends upon the strength of the rubber roof and its underlying glue.

An alternative to goop: Eternabond screw sealing.
I've use the Eternabond Roof Repair tape and Webseal with the same results. It's amazing to see the fastener head disappear. - pianotunaNomad IIIDicor and make sure the controller has adjustable voltage set points, as well as a temperature probe on the battery bank.

- ChandalenExplorerGet a good solar controller, not the one in a kit. Morning Star makes great controllers.
Never connect solar panels to batteries without a controller in the middle. You will over charge the batteries, and with cheap panels actually discharge the batteries at night.
As mentioned above, use decent gauge wire. 6ga or dual 8ga from panels to controller, and the same to the batteries is great. From batteries to an inverter (depending on size of inverter) you will need much thicker cables. I use dual 1/0 wire from my batteries to my 2k Pure Inverter.
Verify shading of the panels on your roof. ie make sure the AC or skylights are not close enough to any panels to cause shadows.
BTW Harbor freight panels are utter trash and should not be used. - corvettekentExplorerDicor Self-leveling Lap Sealant.
Mount your controller close to your batteries and use as short of wire run as you can, also use 6 or 8 gauge wire. - CJW8ExplorerDicor
